Prior to opening this boutique law pracice, he worked at a large law firm where he represented Fortune 100 companies and as a prosecutor.

Martin is a former prosecutor who rose to lead appellate section of the Warren County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. She later was in charge of the Department of Health’s Alcohol and Drug Testing program. In that role, she testified in courts throughout Ohio about the operation of Ohio’s new breath testing machines.

As prosecutors, Engel and Martin have handled a number of high profile cases, including murder cases. One case attracted media attention because it involved a defendant who was illegally residing in the United States. Another case involved the prosecution of a former police lieutenant who was accused of hiring people to break into his own home to stage a burglary. This case was featured on 48 hours in 2005. The feature was titled “Scared to Death.”

Few attorneys in private practice have Engel and Martin’s trial experience. They have successfully litigated cases in state and federal courts throughout the country, and have tried close to 100 cases to a jury. Having handled claims from both sides has given them a unique insight into criminal law, and in-depth knowledge of the legal procedures involved on both sides of the case.
